Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@limasierra.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

For the IR(R) IMC course you need to already have a Private Pilots Licence (PPL(A)) and a valid medical certificate.

In addition to the above, before you can start your course, you need to have at least 25 hours of PIC time logged since you completed your PPL(A) course.

The only additional equipment you will need for the IR(R) course is the study material which will help you prepare for the ground theory test.

The study materials can be found in our shop.

The IR(R) IMC course price is dependent on your current membership status:

  • No Membership - £7,200
  • Silver - £6,500
  • Gold - £6,200

These prices are based off of 15 hours of dual IMC flight instruction, 25 hours of ground instruction and IMC unlimited simulator hire.

Prices do not include landing fees or instrument approach fees. Both the ground examination and skills test will be billed seperately.

There are two exams to take throughout the duration of the course.

The first one you will have to take is the ground theory exam. The study materials are available in our shop.

The second and final exam you will have to take is the skills test conducted by one of our CAA examiners.
